Cashmere is a noble, delicate fibre that loves water. A cashmere jumper should be washed regularly, after being worn two or three times. Machine washing is suitable for a cashmere jumper. Always use a wool cycle, and do not exceed 500 revolutions per minute when spinning. Contrary to what you might imagine, cashmere does not tolerate fabric softener. Hand washing is also a possible alternative, following the same guidelines as for machine washing: knead it for a few minutes, without wringing it. A cashmere jumper must always be dried flat so that it keeps its original shape. If the knit is slightly creased, it can be pressed with a cool iron without pulling on the stitches.
