Cashmere is a noble and delicate material that loves water. A cashmere sweater should be washed regularly, after being worn two or three times. Machine washing is suitable for a cashmere sweater. You must use a wool cycle and not exceed 500 revolutions per minute for the spin cycle. Contrary to what one might imagine, cashmere does not tolerate fabric softener. Hand washing is also a possible alternative, following the same instructions as for a machine, by kneading it for a few minutes without wringing it. Cashmere must always be dried flat so that it retains its original shape. If the knit has any wrinkles, it can be ironed with a cool iron without pulling on the fabric.
